First Visit

During your initial appointment, Dr. Borden will perform an orthodontic examination and discuss any treatment needs with you. Our Financial Coordinator will also be happy to discuss the investment for your treatment and go over your insurance benefits and explain our various payment options. This visit is complimentary. If additional services are performed, we will discuss any fees in advance. Please allow approximately 1 hour for your exam.

Orthodontic Diagnostic Records
Should orthodontic treatment be indicated the next step is orthodontic records. The orthodontic records include a panoramic x-ray, cephalometric x-ray, models of the teeth and a series of digital photographs. Pre-treatment orthodontic records are essential for Dr. Borden to properly diagnose and plan the treatment for your orthodontic care.

Getting Your Braces
Congratulations! You are ready to get your braces. You will need to allow approximately 1 hour for your appointment. During that time, we will place the braces on your teeth with a strong adhesive that will withstand normal chewing functions and can still be comfortably removed at the end of treatment. Our office uses “The Damon System” of braces which is more efficient and more comfortable than traditional braces. This system utilizes a low force technology which means less discomfort for our patients. In addition, Damon braces can sometimes cut down on the treatment time and number of adjustments. During this appointment we will also give you instructions on how to care for your new braces.
